St Patrick’s Day inspired cocktails
We have started our countdown to St. Patrick’s Day at Adare Manor and our team have been busily creating treats and surprises for our guests to enjoy this weekend. Our Mixologist Ariel Sanecki has taken inspiration from the myth and landscape of Ireland to invent two celebratory cocktails …
Clouds Over Croagh Patrick
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban, Slane Castle Whiskey, Dry Vermouth, Tobacco Liqueur, Earl Grey & Apricot Syrup, Orange Bitters, Matcha Green Tea Air Foam
Legend has it that Saint Patrick fasted for 40 days and 40 nights at the top of Croagh Patrick, the holy mountain of Ireland, which has been a place of pilgrimage since the Stone Age. Far from the asceticism of Ireland’s patron saint, this cocktail is an exercise in indulgence, with its blend of Celtic whiskeys, hints of tobacco and tea, and a vibrant dash of fruit, all topped with a luxurious cloud of foam.
Cupán Ádh
Lapsang Souchong Infused Slaine Irish Whiskey, Plum Marmalade, Chocolate Port, Citrus, Mint
The “cupán tae,” or cup of tea, is at the heart of Irish hospitality. In this elevated version, it becomes the “Cupán Ádh” (pronounced “Cup-on awe”) or the “Cup of Luck.” The smokey aroma of Lapsang Souchong tea, deep flavours of chocolate and plum, and the bright notes introduced by citrus and mint combine to create a cocktail of great good fortune.
