If your idea of an enjoyable evening involves a good measure of expertise, a double dose of Irish wit and, of course, a decent shot of whiskey, then soak up the tales and mysteries of the ‘water of life’ by booking a whiskey tasting experience. A very special blend of entertainment is guaranteed.
The Adare Manor whiskey collection includes more than 160 rare quality bottles sourced from the best producers internationally. The very finest Scotch, Bourbon, Canadian and Japanese bottles are represented, but the focus, of course, is on the legendary Irish whiskeys. There are some very recognisable names as part of the collection, and many more exclusive releases for the connoisseur to discover.
Choose from our three whiskey tasting experiences: An tEarrach, Áth Dara and Na Cinn Mhiotasacha. Each guided tasting will consist of four different Irish whiskeys to sample. One of our Adare Manor Midleton Very Rare collaboration whiskeys will feature in every whiskey tasting experience. Guest whiskey preferences can be catered to on request, depending on availability.
At the beginning of our Irish whiskey story, like a good Irish tale, we take a road less travelled. This tasting is an insight into the four styles of Irish whiskey from some of the country’s most prestigious distilleries, and as such will include a tasting of a single grain, a single malt, a blend and a pot still.
It offers the opportunity to indulge in one of the Midleton distillery’s most exclusive whiskeys, along with one from oldest distillery on the island, Bushmills. Together these two historic brands have brought the Irish whiskey industry back from the brink and represent the tEarrach of Irish whiskey.
This tasting offers an insight into four exclusive Irish whiskeys which are no longer available for purchase. We will delve into the differences and nuances of these now collector’s items to experience the expertise of Irish master distillers. We describe how whiskey around the world compares and how it all has grown alongside the Irish whiskey industry, while depicting an incredible journey through the history of Irish whiskey.
Na Cinn Mhiotasacha is where the rarest Irish whiskey in our collection comes to the fore and is the pinnacle of how to enjoy some of the world’s most precious whiskey expressions. All four whiskeys in this tasting are pot stills and would be considered the epitome of Irish whiskey. The lore and mythical past of Ireland is brought to life in this new experience. This is a tasting for anyone who desires to be guided on a tour of Irish whiskey, the Adare Manor estate and the rich lore and myths that Irish storytellers are famous for worldwide. This unique experience encapsulates The Bestiary; the inspiration for some of Adare Manor’s carved limestone façade, and some of the exceptional Irish whiskeys curated in the vaults of The Tack Room.
